Nerdcore Hits the Streets | Geek Music for the Masses

Gangsta is dead. Grime is a bore. There’s a new beat on the street and it’s called Nerdcore. This geeky hip hop subgenre, also dubbed CS rap (that’s computer science, yo!), is finally booting up with the release of Rhyme Torrents, a compilation featuring the work of more than 50 men – and even a few ladies – who bust rhymes (and C++ code). The collection is free online, so none of the artists make bank.

Check it out yo! (More …)

‘Mind Control’ or Creativity? – or – Why Holding On Is As Important As Letting Go

Life is full of contradictions, opposites and mysteries and yet, when you let go of analysing, dissecting and isolating everything, and look at the bigger picture, mind control and creativity suddenly go together perfectly well. They are two sides of the same coin. Here’s why…

I enjoyed reading your blog. I am presently thinking about the relationship between control and letting go. At the moment, I’m more aware of how we are capable of creating all of these controlling limits in order to manage our fears of negative potential outcomes. But then as we change, mature, grow spiritually and intellectually, some of these old patterns become a burden that we continue to hold on to. And yet, what worked at one time, no longer helps. So we are confronted with holding on to an uncomfortable, but familiar set of outcomes or letting go into the unknown. And choosing between the two is not easy.

    a k0ol mnid tiRck..

Okay here I’ll show you how you can operate your body better by thinking differently.
To show this I proposed to play a game: I took a small coin and put it on my friend’s open palm on the waist level. I held my hand above his hand about a foot or a little more. This is kind of a simple game of reflexes: Now my friend who has the coin has to close his palm before I grab the coin from his hand.

ever wondered why it takes place?
the brain processes information as discrete quanta where visual information is collected about every 35ms. it takes even more time to initiate motor movement and coordinate muscles…
by allowing the “subconcious” to take over, you are basically overriding the info collection step and initiating movement even before the stimuli occurs. stimuli in this case being the other person trying to grab the coin. so, we arent really “operating” the body any better, just responding to things we know will happen before it actually happens…
we are machines, with limits! ;)

    • haamaan 8:15 pm on October 24, 2006 Permalink | Reply

did you know that you can overrule your subconscious mind?
you have to use your conscious mind to think harder and try imaging (see everything that will happen)that the coin is already in your hand,
it’s like programing your subconscious mind. Believe me there are people who really can control theirsubconscious.
Hey buddy, use your imaginations to program your “mechanical” body the way you want, imaginations has no limits! ;)
